New water dispensers and a water bottle for each employee to reduce plastic consumption

Reducing plastic consumption and raising the awareness of its employees to good manners for the protection of the environment. Gavazzi Tessuti Tecnici is replacing water bottle dispensers in its offices, departments and canteen with micro-filtered water dispensers capable of dispensing water directly from the water mains. A ‘zero kilometre’ service that is part of the green business policy that Gavazzi is pursuing with a series of investments to make the company's projects more and more sustainable, not only at the production level.

The initiative, which includes all three factories of Calolziocorte, Cisano Bergamasco and Arcore, also includes the gift of a steel water bottle to employees, to involve them in being an active part in the reduction of daily plastic consumption and encourage a circular savings economy.

Thanks to this initiative, estimating that each employee consumes two 500ml plastic bottles per day, the hypothetical annual saving is calculated to be 5000kg of CO2, as much as would be absorbed by a forest of about 250 trees. For employees and workers the advantage will also be economic, because the new price per litre is 0.20€ as opposed to the previous 0.70€/1.00€.
